Station 13
Last Update: 19/04/2008
Station 13 was my first real attempt to program a game, and while many people would suggest creating a 2D game, I felt that creating a 3D game was easier, and better. The game was created to enter a competition to develop a game using DarkBASIC Pro. The game took place on a spacestation (Station 13) and featured the usual computer gone mad story and the player has to go kill it. The project ended due to the team splitting and there wasn't enough time for me to complete the game by myself.
The game was an FPS featuring two weapons, a little AI and some pretty cool scenery and levels, although we had planned to add far more to the game. The team comprised of Chris Cameron (modelling/animation), Chris Darke (Level design), Jake Macklin (Level design/Modelling) and me (Programming/Modelling). Since then my other team members have created their own website ThisIsHydra.
I'm currently considering re-creating the game for my Game Software Development module starting 15th Jan, as we must create a 3D game using Direct 3D, and with having planned a fair amount of the game already, it may well turn out to be a worthwhile project. I always did have a place for the game in my heart, and so we may well be seeing more of Station 13 in the coming months!

I'm currently scouring my computer and the depths of the old website for the latest version of Station13 to put up here. Please bear with me until I can find it!!!
