3D Game Demo - University Project

Last Update: 16/05/2010
This project expands upon the concepts introduced in my last project, the 2D game demo. This time I'm creating a 3D game demo using Direct3D, and along the way, I'm incorporating other API's and SDK's to create what I hope will turn out as a damn good game, a true testament to what I can achieve when I put a lot of effort in.

I'm aiming to create a role-playing hack'n'slash game, with an ambition to be playable over a network/internet.
I've not designed the art style or anything that doesn't relate to programming quite yet. However I'm receiving help with assets thanks to my housemate who's really interested in the project and is currently on a course involving game asset creation.

Current Features:
  • Level creator/editor
  • Custom file format/level loading
  • Menu system
  • Basic particles (rain)
  • Mesh loading - MD2/Static X/Animated X
  • Lighting - Point/direction/ambient (basic stuff really)
  • Terrain - heightmaps/bezier surface
  • XACT Audio - Although my computer doesn't run it for some reason!
  • Basic console system using the win32 console, allowing on-the-fly loading of meshes and objects, etc
